Work on another business in its own tab, and the console remembers

Switching business can stay in this tab or open a new one, so two tabs can work two businesses at once. Console chats get a short title in your language, and the assistant keeps facts you can read and delete. Accounting explains each account in place.

What changed

The business switcher used to change the business for every open tab. It now asks first. “Switch everywhere” is the old behaviour: this becomes the default, and every tab follows. “Only this tab” and “Open in a new tab” keep the choice in that tab alone. The header shows “This tab” next to the business name while a tab is on its own business. A business you are not a member of is refused.

Console chats no longer keep a machine-looking title. After the first answer, the thread is named in a short phrase in your language. A title that is not in that language is replaced from the question itself, with no extra charge. Each person, for each business, also has a memory: facts taken from earlier chats, and a look back at related threads, so a new chat can use what was already said. Open “Memory” to read them and delete any one.

Accounting and Books carry the same explanations. “Accounting guide” opens a panel on the chart: what each account is for, and when to use it — owner’s capital, owner’s drawings and a personal current account are three different things — plus what a detail account is, how a draft voucher differs from a posted one, and what a trial balance checks. “Explain this account” on a row opens that account’s note. The console answers the same questions from this text.

How to use it

  1. Open the business menu in the sidebar and pick another business. Choose “Switch everywhere”, “Only this tab”, or “Open in a new tab”.
  2. In “Chat console (NabuOS)”, open “Memory” under the console settings to see what this business’s chats have saved, and delete a fact you do not want used again.
  3. Open “Accounting” (or its “Books” tab) and press “Accounting guide”, or “Explain this account” on a row of the chart.

Good to know

  • A tab on its own business does not change the default. Closing it, or choosing “Switch everywhere”, is what moves the other tabs.
  • Memory belongs to you and to that business. Another business’s chats, and another person’s, are not mixed in.
  • The guide is the same text the console uses, so an answer in the chat and the panel do not disagree.
